About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Program Supervisor Independent Living Older Blind (ILOB) with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). This position is responsible for providing direct supervision to Independent Living Older Blind (ILOB) staff, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and performing disciplinary action when necessary. The position is responsible for monitoring case management practices to ensure compliance with RSA policies and procedures; reviewing and approving Independent Living Older Blind (ILOB) client cases and conducting quality assurance reviews; representing Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) in the community and on boards, committees, and work groups; facilitating unit team meetings and case staffings and assigning workloads. This position also completes unit reports and analyzes and interprets case management reports to determine a course of action. This position will serve in a hybrid work environment, with potential for remote work within Arizona (minimum 2 days per week in the office/hoteling). Requirements

  • Federal and state laws and regulations for Independent Living Older Blind (ILOB), teaching principles and practices and reporting requirements.

  • Possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license if driving is an essential function.
  • Complete all required driver training and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks if driving is an essential function.
  • Maintain acceptable driving records if driving is an essential function.
  • Maintain the statutorily required liability insurance if operating a personally owned vehicle on state business.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field; plus one year experience, paid or unpaid, working with individuals with disabilities.
  • One year of supervisory or management experience.
  • Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) ACVRP Certification including COMS, CVRT, CLVRT, CATIS or NBPCB certifications including NOMC, NCRTB, and NCATB preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and oversight of Independent Living Older Blind (ILOB) staff. Responsible for personnel functions including hiring, staffing, coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and training.
  • Monitors and review documentation and instructor led teaching practices to ensure compliance with RSA policy and procedure; reviews and approves client cases.
  • Completes unit reports; Analyzes and interprets documentation and instructor led teaching, performance reports and determines course of action.
  • Represents RSA in community partnership/stakeholder meetings, forums boards, committees, and work groups. Participates in public relations, community outreach, and responds to public and program inquiries.
  • Responds to and researches client inquiries and complaints from DES and other constituents.
  • Facilitates regular team meetings, discussions, and case staffings; responsible for assigning workloads and duties.
  • Reviews cases for quality assurance through formal and informal case reviews.
