About The Position

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol's Investigative Services Unit is seeking a Program Supervisor to join our Team! The Program Supervisor for the NC State Highway Patrol's Investigative Services Unit (ISU) will manage and support the daily operations of the Huntersville State Highway Patrol's Dealer Section.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution AND three (3) years of experience related to the area of assignment; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and specific internet sites that relate to the licensing of motor vehicle dealers, sales representatives and the permitting of transportation network companies.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices specific to money management.
  • Knowledge of North Carolina General Statutes, Administrative Code, North Carolina Dealer and Manufacturer Rules and Regulations Manual, and Departmental, Divisional and State Highway Patrol Policy and Procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of State Highway Patrol operations and policies.
  • Experience with programs and applications used by members assigned to the Dealer Section, e.g. STARS, SADLS, INova, OneDrive, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Teams, Remote Deposit Capture, etc.
  • Working knowledge of all systems, North Carolina laws, administrative codes, and agency policies and procedures pertaining to the licensing and permitting of motor vehicle dealers, salesmen, and transportation network companies.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the workflow of the civilian members in the unit by monitoring, documenting, and counseling the staff members.
  • Responsible for maintaining, documenting, and conducting all phases of performance management through the NCVIP portal.
  • Ability to perform tasks such as approving timesheets, handling personnel situations, training personnel, and planning and achieving unit goals.
  • Manage and assign batch mailings, process the units’ daily mail, and compile information for reports.
  • Responsible for completing the daily deposit and documenting and rectifying any exceptions, if present, and maintaining all records and files.
  • Handle complex questions from citizens, dealers, and sales representatives, Transportation Network Companies, other state agencies, law enforcement officers and divisional and State Highway Patrol employees through electronic means, telephone, and in-person interactions.
  • Review and proofread documents sent to the Dealer Section requesting various actions that must be completed in conformance with North Carolina laws, Administrative Codes Rules and Regulations and agency policies that govern dealer licensing.
