About The Position

Girl Scouts of Utah is hiring a full-time Program Specialist! This organization has shaped generations of young leaders across Utah and is looking for someone who loves creating and facilitating meaningful, engaging programs that inspire and empower youth. The Program Specialist leads the design and delivery of programs that enhance the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). This role builds strong partnerships and collaborates with staff, volunteers, and caregivers to expand program reach and impact. Working closely with the Program team, the specialist ensures alignment across initiatives while adapting to organizational priorities and leveraging individual strengths.

Requirements

  • A commitment and passion for the Girl Scout mission and an ability to effectively model, promote, and communicate the mission and vision of Girl Scouts to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work as a full-time staff member, with a dynamic schedule which will include evenings and weekends.
  • High level of professionalism with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, multitask, meet deadlines, take initiative, maintain confidentiality, work efficiently under pressure, and work independently.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, detail oriented, high degree of accuracy with the ability to manage multiple programs and seasonal staff simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to deescalate conflicts and manage difficult situations effectively.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to edit work for spelling and grammar, and ability to read and interpret written information and numbers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, and ATS (Applicant Tracking System) platforms.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Youth Protection Training Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Successfully pass background investigations, including sex-offender registries and driving records.
  • Must have personal transportation, possess a valid driver’s license, maintain personal auto insurance, and meet the Council insurance company’s requirement for coverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality, engaging programs that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) outcomes.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, and stakeholders to expand program opportunities.
  • Develop inclusive program strategies that meet the diverse needs of girls and support recruitment and retention goals.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using data and continuously improve program delivery, volunteer support, and participant experience.
  • Lead and facilitate program activities, including direct engagement with Girl Scout troops and alternative delivery models.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to increase participation, enhance program content, and support fundraising efforts.
  • Manage program budgets, monitor financial performance, and support cost recovery goals.
