Provides direct service to clients, assisting with training in skills of daily living. The Program Specialist will teach skills for maintaining personal hygiene, laundry, and apartment cleaning. They will also monitor the overall maintenance of apartments and alert the program director of any maintenance problems. Additionally, the role involves teaching skills for budgeting, shopping, meal planning, preparation, and clean-up, as well as self-preservation and monitoring living units for safety and cleanliness. The Program Specialist will administer the client cooking safety test, monitor, document, and teach self-administration of medication, and report incidents or behavioral changes in residents to the supervisor. The role also includes teaching travel skills, escorting clients when needed, documenting services rendered and client progress, and attending training as requested. Duties as assigned by the supervisor are also part of the role.
