We are seeking an LTAMDS (Lower Tier Missile Defense Sensor) Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to serve within Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) supporting U.S and/or foreign programs within the portfolio at our Pelham, New Hampshire location. Responsibilities include promoting and executing with a quality mindset, practices, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. This individual will assist in the implementation of Mission Area strategic quality improvements across contracts within the Radar IPT (Integrated Product Team). This role will ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements of the programs through the IPT, and interface with U.S. Government Customers, Foreign Customers, Suppliers, and our internal Raytheon Quality team. The LTAMDS portfolio includes contractual scope in the design and development, production, and sustainment product phases. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic mindset, the ability to influence across teams, and offer creative results to complex challenges. This position is an on-site role in Pelham, New Hampshire.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Relevant experience is work in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, system engineering, manufacturing & quality systems, technical supplier management
  • Manufacturing process knowledge (assembly, inspection, and/or test)
  • Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience in development / usage of quality metrics for use both in root cause analysis and also to identify / institute quality verification(s).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Existing US Secret (or higher) clearance
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145; Utilizing tools such as PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA and/or Control Plans
  • Experience interfacing directly with customers and creating relationships with program management, cross-functional program leadership, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Experience with SAP/PRISM or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Tools
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).

Responsibilities

  • Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) in accordance with AS9145 and internal APQP requirements, as applicable.
  • Standardize and implement LTAMDS Test defect data entry for quick and easy data analysis.
  • Analyze LTAMDS Test defect data to drive priority focus for the extended factory/program support teams to ensure alignment on top priorities to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis, and associated Corrective Action Implementation.
  • Develop and Monitor Major End Item test performance metrics to maintain program health, drive Continuous Improvement Efforts.
  • Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead stakeholder discussions/action plans to drive process/design enhancements to reduce variation and improve predictability.
  • Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
