About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Program Project Specialist 2 with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). This position is responsible for overseeing and managing complex, long-term projects while assisting Leadership with strategic initiatives, operational planning, and project implementation. Responsibilities include monitoring project progress, resolving issues, providing leadership updates, and developing reports, metrics, and other project documentation. Travel will be required for State business. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department’s business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Requirements

  • DES policies and procedures.

  • Respond quickly and effectively to resolve planning, program, and audit related items.
  • Take information and propose or implement solutions.
  • Prepare well organized reports, deliverables.
  • Plan, evaluate, and direct the activities of professional staff.
  • Effectively communicate ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in Social Services, Public Administration, or Business Administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage complex projects that support leadership priorities, strategic objectives, and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate programs and special initiatives to achieve breakthrough objectives, annual improvement priorities, and key performance outcomes.
  • Assist leadership with planning, implementing, and evaluating statewide programs, operations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare executive summaries, reports, presentations, and other project documentation for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvement by monitoring project performance, evaluating effectiveness, and identifying opportunities for operational enhancements.
