The Sleep, Eating and Affect (SEA) Laboratory seeks a Program Project Manager to oversee and support a growing research program focused on mind and body interventions for mental and physical health states. This position is based at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health at the Mt. Zion campus, with some capacity for work from home. The Program Project Manager will work primarily on analyzing and overseeing the conduct of the laboratory’s program of research, which includes analyzing needs for the lab, overseeing study progress, and performing daily research activities. The research studies taking place in SEA Lab include testing cognitive behavioral therapy and whole-body heating protocols for the treatment of depression, testing cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia and home-based infrared body heating for the treatment of insomnia, testing the impact of whole-body heating on the excretion of bodily chemicals in firefighters, testing the impact of a novel gastrointestinal intervention on the excretion of PFAS chemicals in firefighters, and testing the impact of community sauna bathing on loneliness in emerging adults. The SEA Laboratory interventions are diverse, ranging from whole-body heating and sauna research to psychotherapy and digital therapeutics. Similarly, the SEA Laboratory designs interventions for several populations, including civilians, firefighters, and military service members.
