About The Position

This is a Full Time, Selected Exempt Service Position. The Program Operations Administrator role is primarily supervisory, involving communication, motivation, training, and evaluation of employees. The incumbent has the authority to make hiring and disciplinary decisions or effectively recommend them. Responsibilities include developing performance expectations, conducting performance reviews, managing schedules, and completing timesheets. The position also involves monitoring application reviews for eligibility for examination and licensure or continuing education status, serving as a liaison between boards/councils and the Board Director, and representing the Board Director at meetings. Additionally, the role coordinates the implementation of board directives, program development, and special projects, and collaborates on statutory amendments, administrative rules, and policies. The administrator manages operational procedures, provides data for reports, and assists with budget preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities, including communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees.
  • Has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.
  • Develops performance expectations, meets with staff regularly to discuss performance, completes performance reviews, maintains vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and completes timesheets.
  • Provides supervision to staff working for the Electrology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and School Psychology professions.
  • Ensures that office directives and policies are followed and that employees perform satisfactorily.
  • Evaluates and motivates employees by preparing realistic goals and schedules, developing performance and quality control standards, monitoring progress and results, taking corrective actions and resolving performance problems.
  • Reports to Board Director concerning work activities and employee performance.
  • Monitors review of applications performed by staff to determine applicant's eligibility for examination and licensure or continuing education provider status and makes recommendations to the boards, councils, and department concerning eligibility.
  • Serves as liaison between the boards/councils and the Board Director.
  • Represents the Board Director at board, council, legislative, committee, department and national regulatory association meetings in his/her absence or unavailability.
  • Provides Board Director and staff reports of such meetings.
  • Coordinates and manages implementation of board and council directives, the development of new programs and/or corrective action plans, and special projects or activities, to meet the needs of board and council operations more effectively and efficiently.
  • Coordinates with Board Director, assistant attorneys general, and legal staff, the development and recommendations for statutory amendments, administrative rules and policies for the professions.
  • Manages the development and implementation of operational procedures.
  • Provides the regulatory supervisor/consultant with data and statistics for division reports and for use in preparation of directives.
  • Assists in the development and preparation of budget issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
