About The Position

The Program Manager, Sorella Housing, ensures the day-to-day operations of the program are delivered in a manner consistent with Atira Women’s Resource Society's mission, mandate, policies, goals and objectives and in accordance with legal, statutory and other requirements. The Program Manager provides leadership to program staff, volunteers and ensures a high standard of women-centered, feminist-based, anti-oppression theory and practice is maintained in program delivery. The Program Manager also promotes the Society’s activities through contact with the community, business organizations, government and the general public.

Requirements

  • A degree in social services administration, and/or resource development
  • Three (3) years related experience including supervisory and program management experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience working with women who are facing multiple forms of oppression including but not limited to violence, abuse, homelessness, poverty and racism.
  • Operational/administrative management, planning, organizing, human resources, analytical and communications, counselling/social services knowledge and skills are typically acquired through the completion of a university degree or equivalent training and experience (one to three years of progressively more responsible program management experience preferably working with women in crisis).
  • All positions are subject to a criminal record check, including vulnerable sector check
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle while on shift is required
