About The Position

UBC Sauder School of Business is a globally recognized business faculty, renowned for its research, learning, faculty, and international partnerships. A collaborative and respectful culture is a cornerstone of its strategic plan. The Portfolio Management Foundation (PMF) and Women+ in Finance Training (SWIFT) programs are signature initiatives offering undergraduate students immersive capital markets experience, including managing a real-money investment fund. These programs integrate financial analysis, ethical leadership, and professional development, aligning academic excellence with industry relevance. The Program Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for the PMF and SWIFT programs, managing finances, administrative processes, systems, and student/program leadership. This role involves developing and managing relationships with internal UBC Sauder units and external stakeholders in the global capital markets industry, crucial for program success.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master’s degree in business, education, or related field is preferred.

  • Experience in program management, account management, or professional education.
  • Strong customer service skills, client management experience, and proven project management experience are essential.

  • PMI certification is an asset.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and operational oversight of a broad range of functions for UBC Sauder’s Portfolio Management Foundation (PMF) and UBC Sauder Women+ in Finance Training (SWIFT) programs, including finances, administrative processes and systems, student and program leadership.
  • Develops and manages relationships with internal UBC Sauder units and external stakeholders in the global capital markets industry.
  • Manages functions of a broader scope and provides operational oversight and accountability across all aspects of PMF and SWIFT operations and core activities, aligning with the unit’s strategic goals.
  • Conceptualizes and implements short- and long-term strategies and objectives for the unit.
  • Develops, establishes and manages administrative policies, processes and systems to meet the operational needs of the programs.
  • Continually evaluates their effectiveness, offers suggestions and implements improvement initiatives.
  • Develops and manages budgets and forecasts, and performs accounting functions for the programs.
  • Provides budgetary analysis, prepared financial reports and forecasts for use in strategic planning.
  • Partners with the Managing Director in developing strategic goals for the program development.
  • Leads end-to-end program development, from needs analysis through marketing, delivery and impact evaluation.
  • Researches and proactively identifies new learning needs, renewal opportunities, and value-added services to grow and deepen partnerships and to drive students’ growth.
  • Consults in the development of the strategic business plans and collaborates with business development leads to create proposals and learning solutions aligned with program and learner goals.
  • Develops promotional campaigns; researches, devises and implements communications and marketing strategies.
  • Develops selection criteria and application process and manages admissions for PMF/SWIFT programs in conjunction with the Managing Director.
  • Reviews and updates program frameworks to ensure relevance, innovation, and academic rigor.
  • Manages program logistics, timelines, risk, and communication across stakeholders.
  • Provides leadership and manages students participating in the programs, ensuring an exceptional learner experience throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Monitors students’ performance and engagement and takes corrective actions to address any issues.
  • Leads post-program reviews and integrates feedback into future program enhancements.
  • Leads the development and evaluation of policies, services and service delivery, providing data-informed recommendations to enhance program quality and student experience.
  • Builds, sustains and manages strategic partnerships with external stakeholders to advance program goals and student success.
  • Represents the unit at industry events, conferences, and partnership meetings to build visibility and grow engagement.
  • Maintains accurate account records and pipeline activity and performs other duties within the scope of the role as required.
