UCSF Health Converge Program Manager
About The Position
UCSF Health seeks a strategic and execution-oriented program manager who will own the implementation of UCSF Health Converge, a new health AI accelerator. Reporting directly to the VP / Executive Director of UCSF Health Converge, this critical position provides strategic and tactical oversight of accelerator implementation, governance, and project execution while collaborating closely with executive leaders, clinicians, data scientists, IT professionals, and operational teams to drive the selection process and successful project execution. The role manages the work of the project managers assigned to each selected project and is responsible for the day-to-day linkages between the selected companies and identified project cohorts at UCSF Health. The Program Manager serves as the primary coordinator across the organization for the accelerator projects, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, supporting operational teams, and the successful execution of selected projects. The role requires strong leadership (including ability to lead by influence), technical acumen, and healthcare experience to bridge the gap between AI innovation, clinical informatics, IT infrastructure, and health system operations. Involves providing strategic guidance, advising and decision-making on behalf of an executive (generally defined as Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, or Vice Provost), relative to strategic academic and resource planning, short and long-range policy development, communications and high-level analyses of new program development. In addition to executive advising, may also manage an independent program and/or professional staff engaged in a range of administrative functions.
