About The Position

The Program Manager serves as a leader, mentor, and role model within the organization, embodying the highest standards of a Direct Support Professional (DSP). This position plays a critical role in guiding individuals with developmental disabilities through all phases of service—from intake and discovery to full community integration and transition. Working under the direction of the Program Director and senior leadership, the Program Manager leads person-centered planning efforts, including Productive and Personally Meaningful Life (PPML) Plans and PATH planning. This role ensures each individual served is supported in achieving a fulfilling, inclusive life through meaningful activities such as employment, education, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish (required)
  • Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
  • Strong background in: Case management
  • Strong background in: Staff supervision and training
  • Strong background in: Positive Behavior Support
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Valid California driver’s license with: Minimum 3 years of driving experience
  • Valid California driver’s license with: Current auto insurance
  • CPR/First Aid certification (required)
  • Must meet all Direct Support Professional (DSP) requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model by fulfilling all DSP responsibilities while leading and supporting a team of Direct Support Professionals
  • Provide hands-on support, crisis intervention, and case management services
  • Act as the primary point of contact for individuals served from intake through transition
  • Lead and facilitate PPML, PCP, and PATH planning processes
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans, goals, and action steps
  • Support individuals in accessing meaningful opportunities including paid work, volunteerism, education, and recreation
  • Oversee intake, discovery, and assessment processes to ensure appropriate service placement
  • Coordinate successful transitions within and outside of the organization
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance and service documentation
  • Complete semi-annual and annual progress reports
  • Develop and oversee behavior assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Monitor associate progress using data and staff feedback
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, care providers, and community partners
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks and satisfaction surveys
  • Collaborate with Regional Centers, DOR counselors, and other agencies
  • Ensure alignment between program goals and partner expectations
  • Identify and mitigate health and safety risks across program sites
  • Conduct safety trainings, drills, and monthly meetings
  • Respond to medical, behavioral, and emergency situations
  • Monitor for and report concerns related to illness, injury, or abuse
  • Coordinate transportation services for individuals served
  • Assist individuals in accessing public transportation resources (e.g., Access, CitiRide)
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and formal evaluations
  • Conduct staff trainings on behavior support, instruction, and service delivery
  • Support onboarding and development of new employees
  • Serve as a substitute DSP when needed
