About The Position

Oversee and assist programs related to economic, community, and housing plans into actions. Leverage existing initiatives to address the requirements of vital economic, community, and housing sectors. Enhance existing programs, introduce new ones, and collaborate with partners, to foster growth, resilience, and improved competitiveness for local businesses and communities. Responsible for managing and executing sector-focused programs from the initial stages to completion.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
• Two (2) years of program management, or directly related experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance is required.
• Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States’ territories and Canada must be credentialed by an approved U.S. credential evaluation service belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).
• Candidates who are contacted will be required to produce original required documents (e.g., current driver’s license, diploma, school transcript, certifications, etc.) listed on the Notice of Job Opportunity within five (5) days of being extended an offer, in writing, by the Bureau Chief of BHR (or designee).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable use of data management and visualization platforms.
• Skill communicating in both written and verbal formats to department heads as well as external agencies, businesses, economic development organizations, and municipalities.
• Ability to analyze data and communicate summaries of program progress to the appropriate audiences, including community members, organizations, government leaders, elected officials, and funding agents.
• Ability to collaborate and assist in the achievement of specific program goals.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members and mid-level leadership.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Ability to participate in weekend or evening events, as needed.
• Ability to travel to work assignments throughout Cook County.
