About The Position

This role is for the Program Manager of the SOF RACER initiative, a new consortium launched by USSOCOM. The consortium aims to rapidly integrate commercial technology for Special Operations Forces (SOF) operators, moving solutions in weeks instead of years. BMNT manages the operational aspects of this consortium, including identifying companies, defining problems, and preparing new defense vendors for success. The Program Manager will be the day-to-day lead, serving as the primary point of contact for USSOCOM, overseeing multiple technology areas, and facilitating the delivery of hardware to operators. This is a hands-on role focused on making the program undeniably successful, with funded initiatives and upcoming competitions.

Requirements

• Experience running programs where the government was the customer and speed was a key deliverable (e.g., OT, consortium, accelerator, or rapid-fielding experience).
• Familiarity with the SOF community is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively and credibly with both special operators and seed-stage founders.
• A strong focus on metrics and a proactive approach to program management, addressing issues before they escalate.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent tasks and threads.
• Minimum active Secret clearance; TS-SCI clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own BMNT’s execution across the consortium’s active Areas of Interest (battlespace awareness and autonomy; communications and cyber; precision effects; human-machine integration; and power and energy), with plans to expand to at least seven more technology areas.
• Manage the operating rhythm, including problem-curation sprints with USSOCOM stakeholders, company sourcing and onboarding pipelines, educational sessions for new defense vendors, and events to showcase progress.
• Collaborate closely with the prime partner GovSignals and BMNT's internal teams responsible for problem curation, technical vetting, and the Defense Investor Network and Deep Tech Connect community.
• Ensure timely delivery of all required documentation, including plans, quarterly metrics, and program reports, maintaining a proactive customer relationship.
• Be physically present and engaged, spending regular time in Tampa and being based in the DC area, as the program's success relies on in-person interactions.
