About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role will oversee and lead new program launches and APQP activities at the specific Arrow Off-Road facility.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) and 5-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical drawing standards, and GD&T
  • Prior experience with metal cutting, forming, welding (manual and robotic), machining, and painting.
  • Excellent planner and implementer with the ability to make things happen.
  • Capable of managing multiple challenging assignments concurrently, moving swiftly and decisively, but collaboratively and effectively with others.
  • Personal commitment to high-quality standards.  Strong communication skills and an ability to formulate positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Strategic thinker and effective problem solver.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the new product introduction (APQP) process from customer initiation through to the start of production
  • Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of cross-functional teams in the development and release of all relevant engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development process and/or customer expectations
  • Develops timing plans and project milestones in accordance with customer requirements and quoted expectations
  • Provides status updates for APQP project tasks according to program timing for all assigned projects
  • Ensures action plans, defect/issues lists, risk assessments, and lessons learned are created and maintained per the APQP process
  • Tracks project costs, product margins, and on-time delivery, and maintains those factors within budgeted/quoted values
  • Holds cross-functional team members accountable and directs the work of others without direct reporting responsibility
  • Manages the commissioning of new lines, equipment, and other systems with plant engineering support to ensure that the introduction into the production facility is managed efficiently and with minimum disruptions
  • Relies on experience and judgment to overcome obstacles and maintain performance to plan
  • Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries, and illness as soon as possible following the event.
  • Complies with duties and responsibilities as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and ensures corrective action is taken when violations occur.
  • Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)
  • Performs other duties as necessary for the completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
