About The Position

This Temporary Program Manager role involves leading the Community Participation Program (CPS). The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, program management, and stakeholder engagement skills to develop inclusive, person-centred services that support community involvement and individual goals. Responsibilities include building community partnerships, coaching staff, advocating for people with developmental disabilities, and ensuring services promote choice, independence, and social inclusion. The Program Manager ensures the overall effectiveness of one or more Karis Disability Services locations, promoting and modeling Karis Disability Services’ Service Principles. They implement organizational policy and establish an environment aligned with Karis Disability Services Values, Vision, and Mission, assisting Direct Support Professionals in meeting the needs of service users and enhancing quality of life. The role also involves building communities of belonging in accordance with Karis Disability Services’ core Values: Valuing People, Fostering Belonging, Serving Others, and Respecting Gifts, while upholding the organization's Values, Vision, and Mission with integrity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in developmental services
  • At least 6 months of Program Manager experience, preferably with Karis or a similar organization
  • Completion of a 3-year university degree
  • Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Completion of supervisory or management training/courses
  • Strong organizational skills and advanced computer proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of behaviour supports, mental health, and addictions
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities related to team success, safety, and service delivery
  • Ability to physically perform all duties and adhere to program-specific protocols and requirements (e.g., Safe Management)

Nice To Haves

  • Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Diploma is considered an asset
