About The Position

The University of St. Thomas is seeking a Part-time Program Manager for the Family Business Center within the Opus College of Business. This is a grant-funded position anticipated to be a three-year appointment, dependent on continued funding. The role requires an average of 20 hours per week, including attendance at events, with one early morning event per month during the school year. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, communications, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in program management, higher education, member-focused organizations, or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously, with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, exercising judgment within established guidelines
  • Skilled in marketing and outreach, with the ability to collaborate on communication strategies to enhance program visibility

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in program development, budget tracking, and event management
  • Familiarity with family business, multigenerational dynamics, or member-based associations
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, data tracking, and report preparation

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of events such as the Family Business Breakfast Series and Advisor Luncheon.
  • Oversee invitation, registration, and communication processes for events, analyzing attendance data to suggest strategies for increased engagement.
  • Manage event logistics, vendor partnerships, and marketing collaborations with university partners.
  • Represent the Center at events to ensure a high-quality experience for all attendees.
  • Direct the operations and participant experience of Family Business Peer Groups, ensuring alignment with the Center’s goals.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for peer group facilitators and participants, building relationships and maintaining group continuity.
  • Develop and manage systems for participant onboarding, scheduling, tracking, and evaluation for peer groups.
  • Design and implement a structured mentoring and internship program to connect family businesses with students and emerging leaders.
  • Develop processes for participant matching, engagement, and outcomes tracking for mentoring and internship programs.
  • Strengthen the visibility of St. Thomas as a hub for next-generation family business leadership.
  • Oversee program operations, including recordkeeping, outcome measurement, and the use of CRM and communication systems.
  • Track program expenses, assist with budget reporting, and recommend process improvements.
  • Prepare board meeting materials and contribute to strategic discussions and follow-up actions.
