About The Position

The Program Manager for Ready for American Hospitality (RAH) is responsible for the oversight and delivery of the training program, acting as the liaison between Fritz Knoebel, the Ethiopian Community Development Council’s African Community Center (ACC), and employer partners. This program prepares refugees and asylees for employment in the hospitality industry by addressing their English language needs and providing hands-on training. The curriculum includes classroom instruction, kitchen activities, field trips, guest speakers, and competency-based exams. The continuation of this position is dependent on funding beyond one year.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree.
Minimum of one year of experience working with a refugee population.
Minimum of one year experience in teaching/training development and delivery, especially with adults in an English language learning context.
Possess valid driver's license, a good driving record, and access to own transportation.
Previous experience working with databases and professional presentation.

Nice To Haves

Graduate degree in a related field.
Experience in an administrative role in a college or university setting.
Some hospitality-related experience, especially in a catering/event setting.
Some experience planning meetings and functions.

Responsibilities

Administer the program, including teaching, scheduling, maintaining records, creating reports for funders, and managing the partnership with the ACC.
Coordinate with Fritz faculty and staff to integrate the program into existing Fritz courses.
Recruit potential participants from the refugee community in collaboration with ACC staff.
Conduct intake and screening of potential participants based on established criteria.
Develop and deliver curriculum, regularly assessing its relevance to employers' needs.
Administer pre- and post-tests to measure learning.
Facilitate mentoring relationships between Fritz faculty/staff and students, and encourage outside mentorship.
Maintain necessary supplies, including bus tickets, for instruction and student participation.
Conduct outreach to local restaurants and hotels to identify employment opportunities for graduates.
Maintain partner relationships through site visits and communication.
Coordinate with ACC employment staff to ensure graduate placement and retention.
Oversee RAH students during the annual fundraising dinner (PGG).
Complete employment orientation and basic plans with adult refugees.
Hold career planning sessions with adult refugees.
Refer clients to the RAH training program based on their interests, education, experience, motivation, and career goals.
Conduct one-on-one check-ins with program graduates to monitor progression and next steps, in coordination with their ACC Career Counselor and Job Developer.
Counsel program graduates as needed to enhance motivation to work.
Maintain client records, including training evaluations, internship reviews, and progress documents.
