About The Position

The Program Manager for Education is responsible for the management of a number of education activities for health professionals at the Weitzman Institute. Work at the Weitzman Institute is grounded in research, innovation, and education, and the Weitzman Institute’s Education Program aims to provide high-quality, interdisciplinary, and innovative continuing education opportunities for medical, behavioral health, nursing, dental, and other health professionals in FQHCs and other primary care practices throughout Connecticut and across the U.S. Our mission is to enhance the team-based practice skills of primary care providers and care team members on chronic and complex conditions and diseases to improve the health of the vulnerable patient populations they serve. Weitzman Education includes a suite of services including but not limited to Project ECHOs, webinars, learning collaboratives, and other synchronous and asynchronous training modalities. Weitzman Education develops, implements, and evaluates education programs for primary care providers and care team members at health centers and primary care practices nationwide. The Program Manager for Education will be responsible for working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary project team, internal and external stakeholders, including faculty/subject matter experts, and private and federal agencies in a fast-paced environment to ensure that all elements of the assigned virtual education projects are successfully delivered. The Program Manager will be focused primarily on projects within Weitzman Education’s portfolio of initiatives, including grant- and contract-funded projects.

Requirements

  • Work experience must demonstrate track record in project management, accreditation familiarity (either at the higher education level or CME/CE level), adaptability, flexibility, accountability, teamwork skills, and ability to work well under deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Proven experience and ability working in matrix organizations
  • Proven experience managing complex projects
  • Knowledge of educational platforms and learning management systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
  • Strong relationship development skills with problem solving techniques
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • At least 2 years of related work experience in adult education and/or health professions’ education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively design, develop, and implement educational interventions for healthcare professionals for assigned projects, including grant-funded and contract-based projects.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations, coordination, and risk management of assigned Education projects, including identifying, addressing, and escalating all related program risks
  • Oversee communications and relationship management with faculty and participants, for assigned Education projects
  • Manage contracting process with faculty, subject matter experts, and other consultants for assigned Education projects
  • Track and monitor assigned projects, ensuring quality, effectiveness, continuous improvement, and innovation
  • Coordinate cross-project activities, including monitoring project milestones, evaluation, and reporting
  • Manage assigned financial elements of education project from inception to conclusion
  • Support and lead technical reports and grants to support educational projects, including environmental scans, program progress reports, and evaluation reports for funders and other key stakeholders
  • Manage program specialists assigned to projects and supervise 1-2 program specialists, as assigned
  • Represent Weitzman Institute at national, state, and local conferences and meetings to build new partnerships, raise the visibility of WI’s Education initiatives, and stay up-to-date.
