About The Position

WIL is seeking a Program Manager for agricultural education to lead training and career-pathway programs in agriculture and food systems with colleges, extension, and employers. The role focuses on designing education and workforce training activities, developing experiential learning and career pathways, building partnerships, recruiting learners, and tracking outcomes. This is a contingent proposal opportunity in WIL's expert collaborator network, not a funded vacancy. It supports a competitive grant application WIL is preparing; no award has been made, and there is no guaranteed work or funding. If an award proceeds and the staffing model calls for it, WIL may offer a project-based contract or consulting engagement. WIL will ask before naming a candidate or including their resume in any proposal.

Requirements

  • Experience leading agricultural, food-systems, or extension education or training programs.
  • Partnerships with producers, agribusiness, or land-grant institutions.
  • Curriculum or experiential-learning program design.
  • Program evaluation or outcomes-reporting experience.
  • Comfortable working as a project-based contract collaborator; remote US.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior federal agricultural education or workforce grant experience.
  • Cooperative Extension background.
  • Rural community engagement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design of agriculture and food-systems education and workforce training activities.
  • Build experiential learning, internship, and career-pathway components.
  • Partner with colleges, extension, producers, and agribusiness employers.
  • Plan learner recruitment, including students from underrepresented and rural communities.
  • Define and track learning and workforce outcomes.
  • Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to WIL proposals when authorized to be named.
