For additional information visit www.uhs.com. The Corporate Supply Chain Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Program Manager – Supply Chain Operations. The Program Manager – Supply Chain Operations Establishes and improves supply chain operational practices that assist UHS facilities in cost control and supply chain operations improvements. Supports sourcing of medical surgical supplies and standardization initiatives for over 200 Behavioral Health (BH) facilities and over 150 physician practices and ambulatory surgery centers. Oversees distribution and other vendor relationships for these divisions and applies process improvement methodologies to enhance patient care and improve outcomes, while reducing total costs. Provides support to both corporate leadership and facility personnel, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-8 years of experience in supply chain operations required. Demonstrated excellence in implementation of internal practices that monitor/maximize inventory turns and lower supply costs. Knowledge of Supply Chain Operations Management Information Systems preferred.
  • Experience in automated Supply Chain systems.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills (proficient in Excel mandatory)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Exceptional leadership and motivational skills are required
  • Proven ability to achieve results is required
  • Strong negotiation skills are required
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers including C-level executives, healthcare professionals, supply chain operational staff, supply chain vendors, and consultants.
  • Travel Requirements: 5% to 10% US or International travel, based on projects

Responsibilities

  • Assists with oversight of the Medical-Surgical Distribution contract for contracted lines of business. Supports review of data analytics to help assess vendor compliance with key performance indicators such as delivery performance, product conformance, fill rates, and backorders. Helps coordinate vendor Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and liaises with on-site vendor representatives to ensure quality customer service. Assists in developing and refining reporting tools to support distribution management. Supports inventory management initiatives for Alternate Sites and collaborates with corporate leadership to implement best practices. Works with IT and supply chain teams to help automate processes and improve inventory visibility.
  • Participates in discussions with supply chain subject matter experts to help establish product standards and maintain product formularies aligned with lines of business. Supports corporate leadership in product review work groups and assists with price load accuracy and formulary implementation at facility level.
  • Monitors contract and formulary compliance and supports efforts to convert non-contract spend to contracted alternatives. Prepares non-contract reports and shares insights with supply chain leadership. Assists with Request for Proposal (RFP) processes and contract negotiations as needed. Helps ensure facilities are rostered correctly and receiving contracted pricing with GPO and distribution vendors.
  • Provides support for supply chain activities related to new Behavioral Health (BH) facilities. Participates in preparation calls 2-3 months prior to First Patient Day, assists with account set up and purchasing of med-surg supplies. Helps maintain facility supply lists and ensures new facilities are added to proper distribution lists and contracts.
  • Supports supply chain leadership for new physician practice or surgery center acquisitions by reviewing existing vendor contracts and gathering necessary information. Assists with data analysis related to contract ROI and supports project management for contract transitions.
  • Attends monthly Alternate Site meetings to provide updates on current initiatives and follows up on identified issues
  • Supports product shortage responses by troubleshooting unavailable stock, validating substitute products, pulling cross-reference data, and communicating shortages or delays to the field. Collaborates with vendors to improve product availability.
  • Assists in managing product recall communication with vendors, field teams, and division leadership to ensure proper actions are taken at facilities.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the UHS Associate VP-Sourcing and Contracting or VP-Supply Chain.
