About The Position

Clear Path for Veterans, Inc. (CPV or Clear Path) is a community-based organization delivering world-class, holistic programs and services to veterans and their families without condition. The Program Manager for the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SPGP) plays a pivotal role in the implementation and management of grant-funded initiatives aimed at reducing suicide rates among veterans, particularly focusing on the SSG Fox SPGP demographic. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the grant program, monitoring fiscal compliance, maintaining accurate documentation to meet federal reporting standards, ensuring all expenditures align with allowable costs under federal guidelines, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the effective delivery of suicide prevention services to veterans. The Program Manager reports to the Chief Impact Officer and works closely with Clear Path’s grant management team, Veteran Support Services Team, VA officials, community partners, and mental health professionals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field, OR bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field combined with relevant work experience with veterans with mental health issues.
  • Previous experience in program coordination, project management, or grant administration, preferably in the field of veteran services or mental health.
  • Knowledge of suicide prevention principles, interventions, and best practices, with a focus on serving veterans and their families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including veterans, VA officials, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sensitivity to the unique experiences and needs of veterans at risk of suicide, with a commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive services.
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis techniques, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of veterans and their communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of suicide prevention programs and activities funded by the SSG Fox SPGP.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets in accordance with grant requirements and organizational goals.
  • Monitor grant expenditures, track progress against objectives, and prepare regular reports for submission to the VA and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to design and implement evidence-based suicide prevention interventions tailored to the unique needs of veterans.
  • Coordinate the delivery of mental health services, peer support programs, crisis intervention, and other supportive services to veterans at risk of suicide.
  • Ensure that program activities align with the objectives of the SSG Fox SPGP grant and adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Produce mid-year and EOY program performance and fiscal reports in collaboration with our grant management and finance/accounting teams.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly Care Coordination meetings with the SSG Fox Team.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for annual program audits, facilitating timely communication with auditors and ensuring complete and accurate submission of all requested documentation, operational processes, and fiscal reports to VA representatives.
  • Engage with SSG Fox SPGP Peer Mentors daily to oversee service plan implementation, keep client files accurate and current, and support team members in their peer service delivery.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with VA officials, veteran service organizations, mental health providers, and community agencies/coalitions involved in suicide prevention efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries, communications, and coordination with external partners.
  • Facilitate internal and external meetings, workshops, and trainings to promote information sharing, collaboration, and best practices in suicide prevention.
  • Raise awareness, through a targeted outreach strategy for suicide prevention resources and services available to SSG Fox veterans and their families through outreach activities, public awareness campaigns, and media engagements.
  • Advocate for policies and funding initiatives that support suicide prevention efforts and address the unique needs of SSG Fox veterans within the VA system and beyond.
  • Represent Clear Path for Veterans at community events, conferences, and meetings to promote collaboration and partnership opportunities.
  • Work with Program Directors and the Executive Leadership team to develop and manage the coordination of programs and services related to the SSG Fox SPGP.
  • Establish data collection procedures to monitor program outcomes, including changes in suicide rates, utilization of services, and participant feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, expenditures, and outcomes, and ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement, and use findings to inform programmatic decisions and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate data on all client leads, existing accounts, and other client-related activities using the VA Data Collection Tool, Salesforce and related processes.
  • Ensure program surveys are administered to all SSG Fox SPGP participants as required to measure outcomes and impact.
  • Develop and pursue short and longterm regional goals that align with the Clear Path mission; create viable strategies to achieve regional strategic goals.
  • Collect data and information regarding program outputs to include, but not limited to, the number of veterans and family members served, demographic data, and other metrics as requested by the leadership team in report form using the VA SSG Fox SPGP Data Collection Tool, VA SSG Fox SPGP data dashboards and Salesforce.
  • Complete other duties or tasks assigned or needed to complete job responsibilities and support Clear Path’s mission.
