About The Position

The Program Manager Senior works collaboratively with program leaders, researchers, finance teams, internal departments, external partners, and other stakeholders to advance program and organizational initiatives. The position provides project and program management expertise, facilitates communication and collaboration across teams, supports program, research and evaluation efforts, monitors project and grant progress and outcomes, and identifies opportunities to improve processes and program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required; experience in a complex hospital, university, or large nonprofit setting highly desirable.
  • Three to five years of experience with progressive project leadership preferred
  • Experience in planning, program development, decision making and project reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets and funding streams .
  • Proven experience in planning, program development, decision making and outcome evaluation.
  • Competent in interpersonal/interdisciplinary communication, group process, facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Experience in planning, program development, decision making and outcome evaluation.
  • Organizational skills: Experience independently planning and managing projects; excellent attention to detail; ability to establish priorities and react promptly to a large variety of requests and needs, sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to partner and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • The authority to hire, separate, promote, demote, write and administer performance evaluations.
  • Comfortable working in shared workspace and multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Office Suite Word, TEAMS, and other web-based presentation and meeting software; some experience with survey database technologies required.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and manages project management processes across a portfolio of programs, research activities, grants, and initiatives, including establishing protocols and practices that promote standardization, accountability, efficiency, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Supports program, research and evaluation activities, including project coordination, development of research-related materials, tracking of study or evaluation milestones, coordination with research teams and stakeholders, and monitoring of project requirements and deliverables.
  • Provides project management support for planning materials, grant lifecycles, grant proposal preparation, submission coordination, award management, budget monitoring, progress reporting, renewal activities, and closeout, goal and deliverable tracking, meeting facilitation and notetaking, monitoring and reporting of project activities, and other related project activities.
  • Supports a team of project coordinators to successfully implement specific project activities and leverage resources across specific projects.
  • Oversee and support administrative functions including general supply inventory, supplies, professional development expense tracking, communications, website administration, program equipment, space allocations, knowledge management, file management and other related duties.
  • Other job functions as assigned.
