About The Position

Anthropic is seeking a Program Manager to oversee the operational aspects of its Responsible Scaling Policy (RSP). The RSP is a framework that dictates when Anthropic's models are deemed safe for training, deployment, and continued use. This role involves managing a continuous cycle of capability evaluations, Risk Reports, ASL safeguard readiness checks, Board approvals, and public commitments. The Program Manager will establish and maintain the program infrastructure necessary to support an accelerating model launch cadence, including source-of-truth tracking, report pipelines, and cross-functional coordination with research, Safeguards, Security, and Legal teams. This is a critical program management position at Anthropic, bridging safety commitments and model development. The ideal candidate will possess strong compliance program management skills, cross-functional collaboration abilities with research and executive stakeholders, and a deep commitment to Anthropic's safety mission.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience managing high-stakes, deadline-driven compliance or governance programs with significant external consequences (e.g., regulatory operations, trust & safety launch reviews, security/privacy compliance).
  • Direct experience facilitating communication and collaboration among technical, security, legal, and executive stakeholders with diverse perspectives and objectives.
  • Ability to analyze technical evaluation reports, formulate pertinent questions, and synthesize information into concise decision memos.
  • Proven track record of building tracking systems to drive cross-functional initiatives to successful completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise calm and sound judgment when launch timelines conflict with safety obligations, maintaining process integrity while remaining pragmatic.
  • Excellent written communication skills, capable of producing status updates and approval packets requiring minimal revision for senior leadership or external audiences.
  • Genuine commitment to Anthropic's safety mission and a desire to be involved in the mechanisms that enforce it.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing knowledge of the RSP, model launch processes, or specific contributing teams (Safeguards, Security, capability evaluations, Alignment Stress Testing, Policy).

  • Oversee the RSP commitments tracker, including Frontier Safety Roadmap milestones, evaluation cadences, and public update obligations, ensuring it serves as the program's system of record.
  • Manage the process for RSP version updates, including internal review, Board approval, and public posting.
  • Represent the RSP program in launch readiness forums and system card reviews, ensuring policy owners are involved in decision-making processes.
