About The Position

The Stewardship Team at DUA leads the development and implementation of stewardship and donor relations programs and services that seek to foster a culture of accountability, service, and appreciation to the University’s donors. Within the Stewardship Team, the Principal Gift Implementation portfolio is integral to the central development, strategy and execution of implementation of deliverables promised in gift agreements between the University and many of the University’s most generous donors. The fulfilment of gift agreement deliverables ensures the long-term and trusted relationship between the University and the donor, ultimately leading to best practice stewardship and re-solicitation. The PG Implementation portfolio works directly with senior leaders and colleagues within DUA and advancement divisions. It involves partnering closely with our academic partners at newly created Centres and Institutes to support their ambitious growth plans, already transforming the research landscape locally, nationally, and globally. The Program Manager will manage a system for tracking and monitoring portfolio activity, support the timely and effective delivery of implementation and stewardship strategies, and foster an environment of collaboration between teams, ultimately supporting strong relationships with principal gift donors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years related professional experience is required, including experience with direct donor relations, fundraising, marketing, or specials events experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in donor-related research, analysis, writing and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently; able to execute existing work while managing and responding to urgent opportunities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of fundraising and donor relations concepts, principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Detail-oriented person with an appreciation for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Exceptional communications skills, oral and written.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with an ability to engage and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with a diverse array of stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with CRM database, Arbor preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to a high level of customer service, tact and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Evidence of leadership and initiative, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail, and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining ongoing relationships with donors whose co-operation is important to the University
  • Managing donor relations
  • Writing detailed analytical profiles/research documents for senior development officers to inform decision making and strategy development
  • Developing and implementing plans to support donor management and stewardship strategies and/or activities
  • Drafting donor acknowledgment and recognition communications
  • Producing complex donor reports
  • Formatting data collected for presentations and reports
  • Generating standard financial reports
