About The Position

Campus Compact is seeking a Program Manager, Innovation to serve as a strategic partner to the Senior Director for Innovation. This role involves program management, execution, creative co-creation, and administrative support, focusing on identifying and operationalizing innovation opportunities to scale impact. The Program Manager will ensure that innovation efforts are responsible, evidence-informed, and effectively communicated to both internal and external stakeholders. This position is designed for someone ready to contribute to Campus Compact's significant growth and expansion, particularly in innovation, scaling, and coalition building, as higher education plays a critical role in fostering democratic principles and addressing societal challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in program management, social innovation democratic engagement, technology and education, and/or higher education administration.
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • A strong, clear communicator and team player who can craft compelling language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A deep personal and professional commitment to democracy, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as PMP or similar credentials.
  • Working with technology-aware tools and topics, especially those impacting education contexts, such as artificial intelligence.
  • Engaging with higher education, democracy building, dialogue or negotiation design and facilitation.
  • Supporting nonprofit, membership-based, coalition, or higher education organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Senior Director to design and execute innovation pilots, managing logistical workflows for effective oversight and handoff.
  • Manage project administration, including subgrant drafting, supporting compliance oversight, and contract review.
  • Assist in the identification and adoption of new technologies, translating complex technical concepts for lay audiences, and drafting field-facing toolkits and training resources.
  • Ensure new initiatives promote equitable access to innovation resources by following ethical standards.
  • Contribute to drafting persuasive arguments and content for funding opportunities, donor reports, and social media.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the innovation pipeline and execute professional communications to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate events such as meetings and trainings to advance program and organizational objectives.
  • Lead small facilitation opportunities, such as breakout groups or specific project workgroups, to support larger innovation cohorts.
  • Maintain the systems and workflows that move projects from ideation to scaling.
  • Partner with the Director of Impact and Evaluation to implement feedback loops within pilots to ensure they are evidence-informed.
  • Work with Membership, Strategy, and Communications teams to ensure innovation projects are integrated into the broader member ecosystem.
