About The Position

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Program Manager in the Advanced Sensors Group. This role will report to the senior program manager and focus on leading project managers that are executing radar development programs as well as cultivating new radar business development and marketing opportunities in concert with the GA-ASI strategic development and marketing teams. This position is responsible for the planning, managing and technical performance of one or more developed or mature engineering program(s) contained at a single location. Manages programs which have well defined program plans and delivery methodologies. Leads all phases of assigned program(s) from initiation through delivery. Responsible for program(s) which represent stable growth. Applies established technologies using standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems. Typically accomplishes objectives through direct execution as well as from subordinate team members. Responsible for decisions that could impact outcomes where erroneous decisions could cause serious schedule delays and expenditure of additional time and resources. Requirements

  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering, science or a related technical field.
  • Eleven or more years of progressively complex program administration experience with at least five of those years managing programs.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of program management principles, concepts, and practice.
  • Program management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Understanding and hands on experience on Radar Systems, SIL Integration, flight & ground test experience.
  • Ability to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of technologies across program requirements.
  • Experience in developing DoD proposals and defense industry business development, contract negotiation and program start-up.
  • Experience in program execution including cost/schedule management (EVMS/EV Lite, IMS), program execution, government property management and program close out.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel up to 25% as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
