About The Position

The project manager I is part of the Project Management Office and will be responsible for several individual projects that are large in scope. The project manager I will be responsible to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of assigned projects. The project manager I will work closely with upper management to ensure transparency regarding the health of the scope and direction of each project, as well as other departments for support. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business or Program Management or equivalent
• Experience using in MS-Project, Primavera or other project management scheduling tool
• Minimum 10 years’ experience on capital intensive, highly engineering, long life cycle product line
• Exceptional Written and verbal skills
• Exceptional conflict resolution skills
• Understand locomotive product
• Experience in successfully managing people, projects and/or programs
• Ability to influence and lead others
• Excellent level of analytical ability to assess, identify and facilitate appropriate alternative courses of action
• Able to work independently
• High level of interpersonal skills to work within team environment
• Ability to influence and lead others; both up and down
• Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines

Nice To Haves

• Masters
• Exposure to ERP systems
• PMP certified highly preferred
• Locomotive knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects of Locomotive Builds, Research and Development, Rebuild and Repower, Aftermarket products and Power Products that range is scope of small to NPI
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Organize structure and manage project teams to meet the needs of the project
• Lead the development of a detailed project plan
• Develop and communicate project scope, goals and deliverables, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring transparency
• Ensure resource availability and allocation
• Controls project costs and manage the project budget
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Communicate project status with the organization and the end customer as defined by the contract
• Establish and maintain relationships all stakeholder within the project reach
• Ensures all deliverables of the contract are met
• Accept special assignments as needed
• Travel as required to perform duties (20-30%)
