About The Position

The DHHS Division of Public Health Licensing is seeking a manager with child care and/or child welfare knowledge and experience to oversee the Office of Children’s Services Licensing in the State of Nebraska. The Program Manager II is responsible for the management and oversight for licensing Family Child Care Home Is, Family Child Care Home II, Child Care Centers, Preschools, School Age Only Centers, Residential Child-Caring Agencies, and Child-Placing Agencies. The Program Manager II is also responsible for the Residential Child-Caring staff fingerprint- based eligibility determination system, and the child care staff fingerprint-based eligibility determination system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, education, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field and one year experience in program planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating, marketing a program or service and supervising/managing staff.
  • Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
