The City of Berkeley invites applications for the Program Manager II position! As a Program Manager II, you will have the opportunity to organize and manage major City programs or projects that have a high degree of visibility and are of substantial impact. Responsibilities include development and implementation of program goals and elements. You may also supervise staff and develop procedures, programs and methodologies. The current vacancy is in the Health, Housing, and Community Services (HHCS) Department. However, the eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in several departments throughout the City. In the HHCS Department: The incumbent will lead the strategic planning, operations, and management of at least two units within Berkeley's Housing and Community Services Division. This role involves overseeing affordable housing initiatives, supportive services, and division-wide special projects aimed at supporting low-income, homeless, senior, and disabled community members. Operating with minimal supervision, the manager will supervise professional staff and ensure compliance with various federal, state, and local funding sources.

Requirements

• Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years in the development and implementation of programs.
• Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities.
• When driving on City business, the incumbent is required to maintain a valid California driver's license as well as a satisfactory driving record.
• Must be able to attend evening and weekend meetings.
