About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of academic and experiential global programs. This position will support the development, budgeting, and contracting of new semester, summer, and short-term global programs and experiential learning opportunities abroad. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of existing programs and redevelopment where necessary. The program manager is expected to work across different University units, including the Global Experiences Office, University Center for International Studies, and Pittsburgh campus schools and regional campuses. The individual must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and have experience working with diverse teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Managing student recruitment, advising, and application processes
  • Program budget development, creating and managing vendor contracts
  • Implementing pre-departure preparation and learning activities, and on-program support for faculty and students.
  • Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of assigned small, routine projects.
  • Coordinates with project stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Assists in developing a timeline and ensures adherence to all deadlines.
  • Anticipates potential problems and adjusts project deliverables as needed.
  • Drafts and manages the program budget, ensures timely submission of vendor payment requests, and manages expense reimbursements.
  • Tracks project progress and maintains accurate records and files; provides detailed reports to senior management.
  • Assists with selection, negotiation, and management of activities regarding external consults or vendors.
  • Conducts other administrative tasks, leads meetings, and drafts communications.
