About The Position

Applied Research Solutions (ARS) is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Program Manager to join a Front Office Group (FOG) within a Department of Defense (DoD) setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex Air Force programs and a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects within the DoD environment. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing a range of projects, ensuring effective coordination across multiple stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of program objectives in alignment with strategic goals. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Minimum of 10 years of program management experience, with at least 5 years specifically working within a Department of Defense (DoD) setting.
  • Active Top Secret or higher security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Management) required.
  • Direct experience supporting Air Force programs and familiarity with Air Force-specific processes, requirements, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with program management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Earned Value Management Systems).
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior military officials, government personnel, and contractors.
  • Ability to identify complex program issues and develop innovative solutions to ensure program success.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in Program Management or Engineering) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Air Force program efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between various Air Force departments, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear communication on program status, challenges, and requirements.
  • Develop detailed program plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure the timely and efficient execution of all program phases (requirements definition, development, testing, and delivery).
  • Ensure that all program activities adhere to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate program risks, including schedule slippage and cost overruns.
  • Prepare and review program documentation, including Acquisition Strategy, Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), Program Protection Plans, and other required deliverables.
  • Provide regular reports on program progress and performance to senior leadership.
  • Provide guidance and direction to program teams, ensuring team members are properly aligned with program goals and delivering high-quality results.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment with internal and external teams.
  • Oversee and monitor the execution of contracts related to the program, ensuring contractors meet all deliverables and performance expectations.
