About The Position

The Program Manager is a key leader responsible for managing all new project requests containing technology, evaluating and prioritizing them before they consume funds or resource capacity. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Partners closely with executive leadership, clinicians, and cross-functional teams to evaluate technology opportunities across the enterprise. Serves as the central point of contact for new project submissions, requests, and ideas. Reviews of incoming requests to ensure business needs, value proposition, cost estimates, impacts, and risk levels are fully documented. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Facilitates priority scoring with the appropriate EPMO governance committee using models based on strategic alignment, impact, and urgency. Coordinates request reviews by governance committees to approve, defer, or reject the project. Maintains visibility across the demand lifecycle using ServiceNow. Directly manage projects which include closely and effectively managing project scope, schedule, budget, and benefit.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of healthcare IT project management experience
  • Must have a solid project management background in a hospital or health system IT environment
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple projects leading business process documentation and business process re-design across multiple functional areas
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate a vision, build relationships, and obtain buy-in
  • Experience with budgeting, including general accounting knowledge of Capital versus Operating expenses
  • Adept in project financial management and strong working knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., ROI analysis)
  • Experience developing business cases
  • Experience with requirements definition and validation
  • Management of RAID logs, including bringing issues and other escalations to agreeable resolutions for all stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong documentation/artifacts management skills
  • Proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget and scope
  • Demonstrated experience with executive-level communications: create and present materials
  • Ability to execute in a remote workforce environment; develop relationships and achieve desired outcomes with a remote workforce

Nice To Haves

  • PMP preferred, but extensive relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of PMP

Responsibilities

  • Apply PM best practices and rigor across all project deliverables and with the business units while promoting the EMPO standards for project management.
  • Translate strategies into specific goals, tactics, action plans, and deliverables.
  • Provide leadership in the requirements gathering process (both business requirements and technical requirements).
  • Facilitate the technical design and build process with multiple partners, while ensuring business outcomes of the project are met.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the project sponsor, the project team members, business, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Responsible for driving project day-to-day operation activities along with project status reporting.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and address change management.
  • Ensure proper testing and acceptance of any solution with internal, business, and/or clinical partners, as appropriate.
  • Lead the business in Operational Readiness, including transition plans, productivity dips due to transformations, standard operating procedures, workarounds, downtime procedures, etc.
  • Develop and execute enterprise-level communication plans.
  • Deliver on strategic alignment of projects to achieve overarching business objectives for the enterprise.
