About The Position

A leading academic healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Program Manager – EPMO Demand Management to support the evaluation, prioritization, governance, and delivery of enterprise technology initiatives. This is a highly visible role that partners with executive leadership, clinical stakeholders, IT teams, and business leaders to determine which technology investments should move forward and how they align with organizational priorities. The Program Manager will serve as a central point of contact for new technology project requests, ensuring proposed initiatives have clearly defined business needs, expected benefits, costs, risks, resource requirements, and strategic alignment before they are presented for governance approval.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of healthcare IT project/program management experience.
  • Significant experience working within a hospital, health system, or comparable healthcare IT environment.
  • Experience managing complex, business-critical technology initiatives from concept through implementation and closeout.
  • Experience with EPMO/PMO governance, demand management, portfolio management, or technology intake processes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing business cases and evaluating technology investments.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management, including budgets, ROI, and Capital vs. Operating expenses.
  • Experience leading business process documentation and process redesign across multiple functional areas.
  • Strong requirements gathering and validation experience.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, RAID logs, dependencies, and change controls.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification preferred; extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a central point of contact for new enterprise technology project requests, ideas, and initiatives.
  • Partner with executives, clinicians, IT leaders, and business stakeholders to understand proposed technology needs.
  • Evaluate incoming requests for business value, strategic alignment, cost, risk, urgency, resource requirements, and organizational impact.
  • Develop and review business cases, ROI analyses, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
  • Facilitate project prioritization and scoring through established EPMO governance processes.
  • Coordinate governance committee reviews resulting in project approval, deferral, or rejection.
  • Maintain visibility into the technology demand pipeline and project lifecycle using ServiceNow.
  • Translate organizational strategies into actionable programs, projects, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Lead business and technical requirements gathering and validation.
  • Manage approved projects from initiation through implementation and closeout.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and benefits.
  • Maintain RAID logs and appropriately escalate significant risks and issues.
  • Facilitate collaboration among executive sponsors, technical teams, vendors, business units, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Support technical design, build, testing, acceptance, implementation, and operational readiness activities.
  • Lead change management and enterprise communication efforts associated with major initiatives.
  • Prepare and present project recommendations, status reports, business cases, and other materials to executive leadership and governance committees.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned with broader enterprise objectives while being delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
