About The Position

We’re looking for an experienced, results-driven individual to join Nordstrom’s Legal Department as a Program Manager supporting the infrastructure relating to food and beverage compliance, including permitting and licensing requirements. This role helps design, implement, and optimize the systems, processes, and governance frameworks that enable the Compliance and Legal team to operate at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of legal or compliance operations, program management, or project management experience within a legal department, regulated corporate environment, or multi-unit operations setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams to drive results and deliver on time.
  • Track record of building and enhancing operational infrastructure—scalable processes, governance frameworks, documentation, and reporting systems.
  • A proactive change agent with strong curiosity, able to build coalitions and drive adoption of new tools and processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex operational topics into clear, persuasive messaging.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with compliance and operations technology—workflow automation (e.g., JIRA, Confluence), data visualization (e.g., Power BI), and document management platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of food & beverage compliance (e.g., FDA Food Code, HACCP, allergen management, licensing, health permitting) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation, and optimization of food and beverage compliance operations infrastructure—license and permit management, workflow tracking, recordkeeping, reporting, and AI adoption.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, governance frameworks, and program processes, and coordinate change management as new concepts, locations, and regulations come online.
  • Assess existing workflows and business support processes, identify gaps and undocumented processes, and design scalable improvements that increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Maintain organized documentation and knowledge management—capturing institutional knowledge and keeping strategy, priorities, and program reviews aligned to enterprise standards.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and drive alignment across Legal, Business Resiliency, Restaurant Operations, Facilities, Events, and Stores to break down silos and advance shared objectives.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards that surface issues—expiring permits, open CAPAs, inspection findings—and translate them into data-driven recommendations for leadership.
  • Support permitting, licensing, audits, and inspections—maintaining audit-ready records, tracking licenses, health permits, and certifications for timely renewals, and translating regulatory changes into updated processes and training.
