We are looking for a Community Day Services Manager who will work alongside the Community Day Services Staff in providing an enriching, engaging, and safe environment for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who participate in the Caritas Community Day Services Program. The Community Day Services Manager is responsible for the Community Day Services Program. The CDS Manager is also responsible for monitoring of the service plan/implementation strategy for the clients in the Community Day Services Program. This position will oversee the client transportation for program. The CDS Manager will promote self -advocacy and self-determination of the people served.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of management skills required
  • Direct Support Professional training recognized by IDHS and ILHC portal
  • Proficient Computer Skills In: Outlook, Word, Database Management Software
  • Access to reliable transportation to get to/from work: Required.
  • Access to a reliable automobile: Required.
  • Must provide proof of auto liability insurance (and continue to while working in this position): Required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license: Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or in Human Services (Related fields will be considered.)
  • 2 or more years of working with adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Direct Support Professional training recognized by IDHS and ILHCWR portal
  • Expert Computer Skills In: Outlook, Word, Database Management Software

Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Executive Director of IDD Services monthly for administrative planning.
  • Orientate assigned new clients to the services and procedures of the CDS Program, documenting all such orientation.
  • Serve as liaison with residential staff.
  • Responsible for the development of implementation strategies, including assessments, planning, coordination, facilitating the planning meeting in collaboration with the QIDP’s.
  • Make referrals on behalf of assigned clients to appropriate resources.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients with other community resources. Emphasis should be placed upon providing supports and services in accordance with the clients’ strengths, talents, and interests.
  • Spend a significant portion of time working with clients and direct care staff, demonstrating goal/outcome implementation and gathering input for developing future client goals/outcomes.
  • Write Monthly Progress Notes on goals/outcomes for assigned clients.
  • Serve as head coach for all Special Olympics activities for the CDS Program. Attend all coaches meetings and Special Olympics events and competitions.
  • Hire, supervise, orientate, evaluate, and discipline community day staff. Supervise Human Service intern/students, etc.
  • Coordinate staff meetings. Attend other staff meetings as assigned: Clinicals, Safety Committee, Managers Meeting, Human Rights, and All Staff.
