About The Position

The Unit Leader manages a team of Program Managers and Associate Program Managers, providing leadership, performance management, coaching, and development to support individual and organizational success. The Unit Leader oversees a team of Program Managers and Associate Program Managers, supporting captive objectives, resolving escalated matters, driving operational excellence, and executing Program Management priorities. Be visible and engaged with unit personnel while in and out of the office. Balance captive escalations and personnel development to ensure service standards for the captive and personnel responsibilities are both maintained. Support the Program Management directive as it relates to the roles and responsibilities of the Program Management team. Enforce compliance with recurring activities (i.e. premium reconciliation, collections, etc.). Conduct regular individual and team meetings to communicate priorities, provide coaching, and support employee development. Gather performance feedback, provide coaching and mentorship, and lead performance management and career development activities. Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing training and development initiatives. Foster collaboration, accountability, and a positive business culture while supporting Program Management strategic priorities. Partner with leadership to improve cross-functional processes, communication, and operational effectiveness. Assist with team and/or enterprise-wide projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Typically requires 5-7+ years of experience in insurance, captive management, program management, or related business operations.
  • Demonstrated progression of responsibility and sustained performance in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, mentor, lead initiatives, or manage people.
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse group of team members.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and commitment to achieving results.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
