About The Position

Join Amentum and Help Protect America’s Homeland! Amentum is seeking an experienced Program Management Support Specialist to assist in the management of research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) projects for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in supporting project execution with DHS HQ, component staff, vendors, subject matter experts, and external organizations. This is a remote telework position; however, the candidate must reside within the Washington, DC vicinity to support periodic on-site efforts.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to pass DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) requirements and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Reside in the National Capital Region.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and integrated software.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Project and willingness to develop more advanced skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Public Trust designation or Secret security clearance.
  • Experience working with DHS programs and mission areas within the last five years.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to align procurement activities with schedules and cost controls.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor financial data and provide insights for leadership.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and project success.
  • Conduct audits and asset accountability to enhance compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with contract closeout and startup activities, ensuring smooth financial and operational transitions.
  • Support program management tasks using specific program knowledge.
  • Maintain and update schedules and material requirements using Microsoft Project to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Update both project schedules and program master schedules as necessary.
  • Review and submit program documents, reports, and technical materials.
  • Execute inventory management and property accountability functions, including tracking and equipment return.
  • Manage shipping requirements and project subcontractor deliverables.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of program personnel.
  • Analyze and process program invoices.
  • Maintain program documentation and history.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders to achieve program goals.
