About The Position

AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Program Management Director. This position could be located at one of the following AECOM locations: Arlington, VA, Baltimore, MD, Germantown, MD, Washington, D.C. The Program Management Director will lead and manage large to very large size programs with high execution complexity and significant strategic value. This role provides strong technical leadership and strategic direction for global program delivery, advocates for ethical and safe working practices, and drives innovation in program management approaches. The Director will collaborate with Global Business Lines, Regional leadership, and Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions. Key responsibilities include identifying and mitigating high-risk areas, contributing to the global learning and people development strategy for program management, assessing long-term trends, proposing skill development and workforce planning, and actively leading talent attraction and retention efforts within program management. The role is accountable for the overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS +12 years of related infrastructure program/project-related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Large infrastructure program or project management experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in either Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia
  • Experienced in defining project design requirements, managing schedules, and achieving organizational financial objectives
  • Experience in leading teams of project managers, contractors, and subcontractor

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manages large to very large size programs which have high levels of execution complexity and significant strategic value to the firm
  • Provide the organization with strong technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery globally
  • Advocate for ethical and safe working practices
  • Drive innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation
  • Work with Global Business Lines, Regional leadership, and Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to address them
  • Identify areas of high risk and pro-actively take action to positively impact program outcomes.
  • Contribute to the global learning and people development strategy for program management, including identification of talent gaps and resourcing plans
  • Assess long-term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise, proactively addressing emerging challenges and opportunities
  • Propose skill development approaches and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future.
  • Actively leads and supports the attraction and retention of talent within program management.
  • Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreement
