Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must meet agency driving standards.
  • Must pass a periodic WI Caregiver Background Check, including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks and/or checks of previous states of residence.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in a health care related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in a field other than health care, and one year experience working in a health care related field having direct contact working with and teaching persons with developmental disabilities; or possess a valid nursing home administrator’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care support to members with disabilities by assisting with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, and hygiene as outlined by the individual service plan.
  • Utilizes mobility devices and practices safe transfer and ambulation techniques.
  • Leads group home meetings and communicates changes to staff, consumers, and the organization.
  • Collaborates with HR in hiring, retention, discipline, and termination processes.
  • Completes all applicable documentation related to assigned tasks.
  • Maintains a safe, sanitary, and welcoming group home by performing housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, trash removal, cleaning bathrooms, making beds, and changing linens.
  • Prepares and serves meals according to nutritional guidelines, menus, and individual dietary needs.
  • Assists, escorts, and provides support to members during social and recreational activities.
