About The Position

The Program Lead, SmartLife & Accessible Technology Programs plays a key role in advancing CNIB’s mission to change what it means to be blind in Canada. This role provides national oversight, coordination, and delivery of SmartLife accessible technology programs, ensuring consistent, high-quality program execution across regions. Working closely with the Manager, SmartLife Operations and the national SmartLife team, the Program Lead supports the coordination and delivery of SmartLife programs, ensuring a high standard of service for clients accessing assistive technology, demonstrations, training, and technology-related support. The Program Lead serves as a key resource for client, staff, and volunteer inquiries, supporting the resolution of service questions and operational issues, and escalating complex client needs as required. The Program Lead serves as a key resource for program delivery, staff and volunteer support, and participant engagement, ensuring programs are aligned with CNIB service standards and responsive to participant needs. This role supports coordination of program delivery across multiple locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with national priorities. The Program Lead works collaboratively with teams across CNIB—including Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC), Deafblind Community Services (DBCS), the Contact Centre, and SmartLife leadership—to ensure programs and client experiences are delivered consistently across Canada.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of assistive and accessible technology.
  • Experience in program delivery and facilitation.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years experience in program delivery or client service.

  • Experience working with individuals with vision loss is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with CNIB staff, volunteers, and participants across regions.
  • Collaborate with SmartLife leadership, VLRC, DBCS, and the Contact Centre to support coordinated program delivery.
  • Engage with external partners, vendors, and community organizations.
  • Support participant engagement through communication, training, and support.
  • Identify program gaps and participant needs and adapt delivery accordingly.
  • Address participant inquiries and program-related challenges.
  • Use feedback and data to improve program outcomes.
  • Balance immediate support needs with long-term program improvements.
  • Operate within CNIB guidelines while exercising discretion in program delivery.
  • Make decisions related to program coordination and participant engagement.
  • Escalate complex issues as required.
  • Contribute to national program planning and improvements.
  • Lead coordination and delivery of SmartLife programs nationally.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers.
  • Support recruitment and engagement of volunteers.
  • Promote inclusive and participant-centered service.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance program reach and quality.
