About The Position

The Program Lead is responsible for driving operational efficiency across purchasing, item management, and cross-functional program initiatives. This role oversees purchase order activity and item lifecycle management while ensuring alignment across supply chain, finance, and development teams. Acting as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, this position plays a critical role in maintaining seamless operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring timely access to necessary goods and services. This part-time opportunity offers broad visibility across multiple business functions and is ideal for someone who thrives in a highly organized, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment. This position is located in Atlanta, GA in a hybrid working environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7+ years of project management, program management, procurement operations is required.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities across cross-functional teams
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work in a part-time capacity
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect operational activities to broader business goals
  • Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders without direct authority

Responsibilities

  • Oversee purchase order processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely submission across teams
  • Develop and maintain standardized procurement procedures across multiple vendors and distributors
  • Monitor purchasing activity to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key vendor relationships, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution
  • Evaluate vendor performance, tracking service levels and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with internal teams to align purchasing activities with broader organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support demand planning and proactively address supply needs
  • Establish contingency plans to mitigate risk and ensure continuity of operations
  • Prepare and deliver reporting on purchasing trends, spend analysis, and vendor performance for leadership
  • Stay current on system updates and serve as a subject matter resource for internal users
  • Oversee end-to-end item management, including setup, maintenance, classification, and lifecycle governance across systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process enhancements and system integrations
