By joining our Kentucky Motor Vehicle Commission as a Program Investigator II in Franklin County, you’ll have the opportunity to provide assistance to the public for information regarding licensing of secondary metals recyclers, use your abilities to investigate theft of metals file charges within the jurisdiction involving theft.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Must have two years of experience in the field of investigation, administrative, business, or social work/eligibility experience.
  • Graduate study in the above fields will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience in one of the above fields will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
  • Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Experience dealing with the public via all communication sources.
  • Experience in testifying in court.

  • Has experience in writing, editing, or digital marketing is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets departmental policies to the public and interprets Kentucky Revised Statutes in response to questions from the public regarding licensing.
  • Investigates sites for failure to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Investigator will file charges as necessary with local officials.
  • Assists licensee's with renewals and applications to be licensed.
  • Works part of a team, being adaptable and able to pivot strategies based upon feedback and analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
