About The Position

By joining the Office of Legal Services, Legal Division I, Investigations and Support Branch as a Program Investigator II in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to conduct complex research and analysis related to individuals, businesses, and potential responsible parties in support of legal and regulatory enforcement actions. This role involves identifying assets, verifying ownership and control structures, supporting attorneys with case development, and ensuring accurate, timely information is available for legal proceedings and decision-making.

Requirements

Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and synthesize complex data from multiple sources.
Knowledge of legal processes, regulatory enforcement, and asset identification.
Proficiency in database research and information systems.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting investigative findings and supporting legal staff.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience in investigations, legal support, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
Familiar with public records research, financial investigations, or asset tracing.
Experience working with legal case management systems and government databases.
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Two years of experience in the field of investigation, administrative, business, or social work/eligibility experience.
Graduate study in the above fields will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Experience in one of the above fields will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive investigations into assets, ownership, and financial interests of individuals and business entities using multiple state and federal databases.
Perform asset verification and determine the existence of real property for purposes of filing or enforcing judgment liens.
Identify and investigate Potential Responsible Parties (PRPs) for environmental and regulatory cases.
Respond to attorney requests ranging from basic verifications (e.g., address checks) to complex investigative research involving financial, legal, and corporate records.
Support case management functions, including case assignment, data entry, report generation, and processing of legal documents such as Agreed Orders.
Draft standard legal documents including Show Cause Orders, Agreed Orders, and Final Orders, ensuring compliance with statutory and procedural requirements.
Perform other investigative and administrative duties as assigned in support of agency objectives.
