About The Position

Pilot Company is seeking an Internal Audit Intern to join their team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This is a unique opportunity to directly improve operational efficiency by participating in audits, evaluating policies and procedures for compliance, and identifying areas for improvement. In this role, you'll be an integral part of the Internal Audit team, working on our annual audit plan and potentially participating in surprise store audits. This is an ideal position for a student who is eager to apply their education to real-life corporate processes and policies, with the potential to independently own a project that makes a positive impact on the organization.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business major.
• Proficiency in Excel is essential.
• A strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at varying levels.
• A keen eye for detail.
• Curiosity.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative and reliable team player.

Nice To Haves

• An interest in process design or industrial design is a plus.
• A basic understanding of data visualization tools like Tableau is a plus.
• Experience with general audit and sampling techniques is also beneficial.
• Participation in organizations like Beta Alpha Psi or holding a leadership role such as a group treasurer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with the team to review company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and evaluating for improved efficiencies.
• Assist with store audits, which may involve some travel (all travel costs will be covered by Pilot).
• Apply academic knowledge to real-life corporate processes and policies, gaining practical application of skills.
• Use tools like Excel and Tableau to perform general audit and sampling techniques.
• Have the opportunity to independently own a project that has a positive impact on the organization.
