About The Position

As the Program Housing Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our housing program to ensure residents receive high-quality care and support. Your role will be crucial in creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment while managing the program's day-to-day efficiency. You will work collaboratively with the team to maintain compliance, manage resident needs, and enhance overall program performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in housing management, property management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of housing regulations, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations (homelessness, substance abuse recovery, mental health, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations, procedures, and information to both staff and residents.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage complex situations and find effective solutions to housing and resident-related issues.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff toward achieving program objectives.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficient in managing multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities within the housing program.
  • Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrates genuine care for residents' well-being, particularly those from vulnerable backgrounds.
  • Time Management: Able to prioritize tasks and respond to emergencies or urgent housing issues promptly.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in social work, public administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Housing Management or related fields.
  • Experience managing housing programs for non-profit organizations or government agencies.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Ensure the housing program runs efficiently by managing all daily activities and resolving operational challenges.
  • Resident Support: Provide direct support to residents, ensuring their needs are met, their concerns are addressed, and they are receiving the appropriate care and services.
  • Housing Maintenance: Oversee maintenance issues within the housing facilities, ensuring they are addressed promptly to provide a clean, safe, and habitable environment for residents.
  • Resident Safety: Create and maintain a safe living environment by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures, including emergency preparedness.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with case managers, social workers, and other staff members to support residents' holistic needs, ensuring coordinated care.
  • Intake and Orientation: Facilitate the intake process for new residents, ensuring they are aware of the program’s expectations and policies.
  • Program Documentation: Maintain detailed records on resident services, housing facility operations, and program performance for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts or issues that arise between residents, or between residents and staff, ensuring fair and effective solutions.
  • Budget Management: Assist in managing the housing program budget by overseeing expenditures related to housing operations and maintenance.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant housing regulations and standards, including health, safety, and housing codes. Report any non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Resident Engagement: Encourage residents to participate in community activities and foster an inclusive, supportive community environment.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to housing staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities within the program.
