Program Grant Auditor

Ibility•Washington DC, WA

About The Position

Ibility is hiring a Program Grant Auditor to support the State Home Per Diem (SHPD) Program within the Veterans Health Administration. The program provides financial resources to state-operated Veterans homes to help them care for eligible Veterans. Ibility supports the Department of Veterans Affairs by assessing whether SHPD grantees operate effectively, comply with program requirements, and deliver meaningful outcomes for Veterans and their families. The role includes investigative analysis, program evaluation, and financial, compliance, and operational reviews—not only checklist-based auditing. It requires travel one to two weeks per month for onsite activities. The auditor reviews case files, program documentation, grantee activities, and complex data to identify anomalies, trends, and potential concerns. The role evaluates supportive services against VA program guidance and produces clear, evidence-based findings and recommendations. The auditor also discusses concerns and difficult findings with team leadership, clients, and grantee leadership, while contributing to knowledge sharing and a collaborative review team. Ibility describes itself as a small, growth-oriented Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and Woman-Owned Small Business headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Its work supports government missions using human-centered design principles.
