About The Position

The Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) organization within BAE Systems is seeking a Program Engineering Manager (PEM I) to support the F-35 Engineering Team. This role is based in Totowa/Wayne, New Jersey, and operates in a hybrid format. The PEM I will be responsible for the successful delivery and support of vital electronic warfare systems. This leadership role involves managing an engineering production team to ensure on-time delivery through customer operations support, obsolescence management, sustainment, and supplier collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to understand complex issues, negotiate viewpoints, and organize work effectively. They must also be capable of developing complex concepts, making impactful business decisions, and communicating them effectively through presentations. The role encompasses all aspects of product delivery, from design and analysis to integration, testing, and delivery, offering opportunities for learning and career growth within an exciting and engaging environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Math
  • 4+ Years Experience working in Engineering or Production/Manufacturing
  • Active SECRET level of clearance (with ability to obtain SAP/SAR)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert knowledge of EVMS, program scheduling, staffing projections, and risk management.
  • Experience with proposal efforts; BOEs, and leading team through stakeholder reviews.
  • Experience leading cross functional/organizational teams and team building

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or MS in related field
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams in Electronic Warfare products.
  • PMP Certification or Agile/Scrum experience
  • Experience with product development lifecycle for defense products

Responsibilities

  • Provide full technical, cost, and schedule leadership & ownership for assigned projects, collaborating with program management and customers while leading the engineering team.
  • Define & maintain project scope, budget, and timelines; proactively manage risk & opportunities; and ensure adherence to all processes and approvals.
  • Manage collaboration with resource managers, operations, quality, contracts, and finance to secure staffing, coordinate efforts, and drive program success.
  • Foster team building, personnel development, and a culture of inclusivity, safety, and well-being across all sites.
  • Independently plan and execute work in a fast-paced environment, exercising latitude in determining objectives and approaches.
  • Regularly report status to leadership, develop customer relationships, and manage budget/financial planning & reporting.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
