About The Position

The Program Engineer will actively participate in daily communication with the customer engineering team and the PKC Group Engineering team. This role is responsible for leading the PKC plant through new project launches, which includes creating and maintaining timing plans and holding weekly meetings to review program status. The engineer will support issue resolution, including reviewing and interpreting customer drawings, and manage the customer relationship to maintain a strong partnership. Additionally, the role involves maintaining all tracking documentation for the PKC plant, such as the latest drawing and specification revisions, program parts list, program APQP issues list, and new component tracking. The Program Engineer will spend considerable time on-site with the customer’s engineering department and must ensure personal adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy, comply with environmental work instructions, report deviations, and participate in EHS training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum (3) years’ relevant work experience as a program engineer or relevant engineering role.
  • Experience in automotive industry.
  • Experience in wire harness design and manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in a role that required frequent interface with the customer.
  • Ability to read customer harness drawings.
  • Print and schematic Knowledge.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and have advanced-level skills with Excel.
  • LEAN.
  • Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • 5 Phases, 8D Problem Solving, 5 Whys Technique.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Project Management - Plans and executes responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • High level of initiative, be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Technical ability to troubleshoot and rework harness issues found by customer(s) as needed.

  • 5 years of electrical distribution systems experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credential
  • Experience in automotive industry

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the environmental work instructions applicable to their job position.
  • Report any deviation on the environmental operational controls established and communicate improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in EHS training.
