About The Position

Maysteel is a growing contract sheet metal manufacturer serving customers across a variety of industries. As a Program Engineer 1, you'll get hands-on experience with new product development, manufacturing, project coordination, problem-solving, and customer interaction—all while learning from experienced engineering professionals. This is an entry-level, developmental opportunity for someone who is curious, motivated, and ready to grow. You don't need to know everything on day one—we'll help you build the skills and experience to take the next step in your career.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Up to 2 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, and take on new challenges.
  • Interest in manufacturing and how products are designed and built.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or product development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product development projects from concept through production.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Estimating, and Business Development.
  • Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and project planning.
  • Help manage project timelines, action items, and milestones.
  • Support 3D models, BOMs, drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with product costing and design-for-manufacturability reviews.
  • Help identify and solve technical and manufacturing challenges.
  • Support Maysteel's stage-gated New Product Introduction process.
  • Travel occasionally, including potential international travel.
